Indonesia, Aug. 17 -- A 5.8-magnitude earthquake has jolted Poso District in Central Sulawesi province on Sunday at 6:36 a.m. local time (UTC +8), causing damage to several structures and injuries to residents.

"According to current monitoring, we recorded 10 injuries in Masani Village, Poso Pesisir Sub-district," Central Sulawesi Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency's (BPBD's) head for emergency and logistics, Andi Sembiring, stated here.

During the quake, all the victims had been attending Mass at Elim Church in the village. As the church was still under renovation, the tremor caused part of the structure to collapse.

"The victims have been referred to the Tokorondo public health center," he added.
