Jakarta, Jan. 30 -- Minister of Housing and Settlement, Maruarar Sirait, on Thursday shared Qatar's plan to build housing for the lower middle class in Indonesia.

"We are ready with the regulations and land (for Qatar). They said they wanted to build housing for the lower middle class," he said.

According to the minister, the housing program will use state land, as directed by President Prabowo Subianto.

"The land will be provided by the state, as mandated by the President, using Indonesian law as well," he said.

He informed that both countries have agreed to cooperate and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the housing sector on funding for one million homes for low-income people (MBR).
