Jakarta, June 20 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has described Indonesia as one of Russia's key partners in the Asia-Pacific region and one of its largest trading partners in Southeast Asia.

He made the statement during a joint press conference with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the Constantine Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Thursday.

"I want to emphasize that Indonesia is a key partner for the Russian Federation in the Asia-Pacific region. Our bilateral relations have traditionally developed based on trust and friendship," Putin said, as seen in a YouTube broadcast early Friday.

He also noted that 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of Indonesia-Russia diplomatic relations.
