Jakarta, June 9 -- Deputy Chairwoman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), Lestari Moerdijat, emphasized the importance of consistently increasing public awareness about the various forms of violence, including at the village level.
She stated that these efforts are essential to achieving comprehensive protection for all citizens against all forms of violence.
"If needed, efforts to educate the public about the different types of violence should extend to the village level," she noted in a statement on Monday.
Moerdijat also highlighted the urgent need for policymakers to understand and enforce laws that protect women and children from violence, while also strengthening community participation.
