Jakarta, Sept. 1 -- President Prabowo Subianto urged unity between the Indonesian Defence Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian Police in maintaining national stability, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin stated.

"On national stability, the President emphasised the need for the military and the police to be united, cooperative, and working together in accomplishing the duty of security and comfort for all Indonesians," Sjamsoeddin stated after a cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace on Sunday.

The president instructed Military Commander General Agus Subiyanto and Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo not to hesitate in taking firm steps against law violations, including attempts to damage public and private properties, he said.
