Indonesia, Sept. 5 -- Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf highlighted that President Prabowo Subianto has shown "extraordinary concern" for victims of protests and riots that engulfed multiple cities in Indonesia last week.

"The president has an extraordinary concern for all the victims, from the public or police officers," Yusuf told reporters as he presented compensation to the riot victims in Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Friday.

His statement was conveyed during his meeting with the family of Rusdamdiansyah (26), also known as Dandi, a victim of a mistaken identity case amid riots in Makassar on August 29, 2025. He was beaten to death by mobs who mistook him for an intelligence officer.
