Jakarta, Aug. 5 -- President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to flag off a night carnival parade on Indonesia's 80th Independence Day anniversary on August 17, 2025, according to State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi.

The government has planned the carnival as part of a series of activities to commemorate the country's eight decades of independence. The activities began on August 1 and will run through August 24.

"He (the President) will see off participants of the carnival. The starting point cannot be disclosed yet, but it is not far from the palace," Hadi told the media at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday.
