Jakarta, Feb. 7 -- President Prabowo Subianto on Saturday praised the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) for its active role during national crises, citing its swift response to recent flash floods and landslides in several provinces as an example of religious leadership supporting public resilience.
"Recently, we saw MUI step in from the very first days of disasters in several regions, including Aceh, West Sumatra, North Sumatra and other provinces," Prabowo said during the inauguration of the MUI leadership for the 2025-2030 term at Jakarta's Istiqlal Mosque.
