Jakarta, May 23 -- President Prabowo Subianto urged the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) to promptly address the aftermath of the 6.3-magnitude earthquake that struck Bengkulu's coastal area on Friday morning.
This includes collecting data on damages and distributing assistance to the affected residents.
"The president has instructed the BNPB head to promptly inspect the situation on the ground. The quick response team has been deployed to the affected areas," BNPB's Head of Disaster Data, Information, and Communication, Abdul Muhari, stated during a press conference here on Friday.
