Jakarta, Oct. 22 -- Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva arrived in Jakarta on Wednesday evening, marking the start of his official visit to Indonesia.
According to the Presidential Secretariat's live broadcast, President Lula landed amid a downpour at Halim Perdanakusuma Airfield at 5:50 p.m. local time.
Upon disembarking from a Brazilian Air Force aircraft, the Brazilian leader was welcomed by Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman and Chief of Protocol Andy Rachmianto.
Following a brief welcoming ceremony, President Lula was escorted by Minister Sulaiman to his official vehicle, which displayed the national flags of both Indonesia and Brazil, before departing from the airfield.
