Jakarta, Aug. 31 -- President Prabowo Subianto has called on the House of Representatives (DPR) to engage directly with the protesting public-including students, online motorcycle taxi drivers, and workers-to hear their concerns firsthand.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Prabowo emphasized that public aspirations must be addressed, noting that several demands-such as the removal of "arrogant" legislators and the reduction of excessive incentives-will be acted upon immediately.

"They will begin rolling back certain policies in the DPR," he said, referring to discussions on lawmakers' allowances and a moratorium on overseas trips.
