Jakarta, Feb. 17 -- President Prabowo Subianto's planned attendance at the inaugural Board of Peace meeting, initiated by US President Donald Trump in relation to Gaza, is aimed at amplifying the voice of developing countries, a lawmaker said.

Deputy Chair of House of Representatives Commission I Dave Laksono made the statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, saying Indonesia's participation goes beyond symbolism.

"Indonesia's involvement is not merely symbolic; it reflects the country's concrete contribution to building governance in pursuit of inclusive and sustainable peace," he said.

Laksono urged the government to continue advocating justice, equality, and respect for international law and the rights of the Palestinian people.
