St. Petersburg, June 20 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto announced that Indonesia is open to increasing the number of direct flights from Russia to various cities in Indonesia.

"We are opening opportunities for increased flights, not only to Bali but also to other cities in Indonesia," he remarked during a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Konstantinovsky Palace in St. Petersburg on Thursday.

Prabowo made this statement as a follow-up to his previous talks with President Putin during their meeting in July 2024 before his inauguration as President of Indonesia.

During that meeting, Putin expressed interest in opening direct flights from Russia to Indonesia.
