Jakarta, March 12 -- President Prabowo Subianto summoned Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) and Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo to the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, to discuss waste management.

Speaking to reporters before meeting with the president, AHY noted that his ministry seeks guidance from the head of state on waste management-related issues.

"It is critical that we immediately find a solution to our waste emergency situation, and for this, we need directives from Mr. President," he told the media at the palace complex on Wednesday.

The minister also spoke about holding coordination meetings to exchange views on the management of waste in the country.
