Jakarta, May 28 -- President Prabowo Subianto has said that France is one of Indonesia's key partners in the modernization of its primary weapons system ( alutsista ).

While issuing a joint statement with French President Emmanuel Macron, Prabowo informed that the two countries are working on joint production and technology transfer of several strategic defense equipment.

"We have an Indonesia-France defense cooperation agreement. France is one of Indonesia's main partners in modernizing defense equipment, including in the development of the defense industry through joint production and technology transfer," he said on Wednesday.
