Jakarta, June 18 -- Head of the House of Representatives' Commission XI, Mukhamad Misbakhun, stated that President Prabowo Subianto's visit to Russia on June 18-20 provides momentum to strengthen both nations' economic and diplomatic ties.

"This visit is not just symbolic. Rather, it is a concrete step to strengthen Indonesia's position as Russia's strategic partner in Southeast Asia," Misbakhun, who heads the House's commission overseeing finance, remarked.

Speaking in Jakarta on Wednesday, he explained that Prabowo's visit aims to include a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and a speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
