Jakarta, May 1 -- President Prabowo Subianto's promises in his Labor Day remarks reflect the government's support for workers, according to president of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI), Said Iqbal.

"It shows Mr. Prabowo's support and favor to the workers," the trade union leader said after the International Workers' Day commemoration at the National Monument (Monas) square here on Thursday.

Prabowo is the second Indonesian president to join the workers on Labor Day commemoration after the founder of the nation, Soekarno, he pointed out, adding that Prabowo gave "concrete answers" to the six demands raised by the workers on this year's Labor Day.
