Jakarta, June 26 -- President Prabowo Subianto is eager for Indonesian hospitals to compete at the international level and attract new patients from Southeast Asian and Pacific countries.

While in Denpasar, Bali, on Wednesday, the president emphasized that having modern medical facilities for domestic and international patients is essential for Indonesia to become a developed nation.

"Indonesia is a huge, developed, and dynamic country that must possess the best facilities to serve as the (healthcare) center and allow us to admit patients from our region, Southeast Asia and the Pacific," Prabowo remarked while opening the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and Bali International Hospital (BIH).
