Jakarta, Jan. 22 -- President Prabowo Subianto introduced the Free Health Check (CKG) program ran by his administration at the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, as a rational policy designed to save the state budget in the long term.
"We are providing free medical check up to all citizens of Indonesia. This is not a populist program. This is a rational program to save money," he spoke at the forum on Thursday.
According to him, the program could reduce the burden of long-term medical costs through early disease detection.
By identifying illnesses at an early stage, the government can avoid much higher expenses associated with treating diseases that have already progressed, he explained.
