Jakarta, July 29 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto praised Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for leveraging Malaysia's ASEAN chairmanship this year to help broker a ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia following their border clash on July 24.

President Prabowo raised the Thailand-Cambodia conflict during a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Anwar at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday morning.

"I would like to congratulate you on your leadership in ASEAN, through which you have successfully mediated and brokered a ceasefire in the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia - an achievement we should be grateful for. I thank you for this," Prabowo told Anwar.
