Medan, Dec. 14 -- President Prabowo Subianto said he will continue to monitor the recovery process in areas affected by floods and landslides in Sumatra, including infrastructure repairs and the fulfillment of logistical needs.

He made the statement while visiting an evacuation center in Langkat with North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution on Saturday.

"I will continue to monitor developments from day to day, week to week," Prabowo said.

He assessed that the handling of disaster-affected residents in the province had shown improvement compared with his first visit following the disaster.

Langkat was among the areas most severely affected by the hydrometeorological disaster triggered by Cyclone Senyar in late November.
