Jakarta, Oct. 20 -- President Prabowo Subianto stated that the government has begun taking initial steps to realize Indonesian-made cars, targeted for completion within the next three years.

"We have started the initiative. We will have Indonesian-made cars in the next three years," he said in his speech at a plenary cabinet meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday.

He said the government had allocated funds and land for the construction of the factory that will produce domestic vehicles, which is currently being prepared by the development team.
