Jakarta, Dec. 8 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto outlined seven directives to strengthen disaster response in Sumatra during a limited meeting at Sultan Iskandar Muda Air Base in Aceh on Sunday night.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said in a statement on Monday that Prabowo called for top-tier emergency measures from all government institutions amid widespread floods and landslides across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
"First, the president urged all institutions to act swiftly, accurately, and consistently to ensure the safety and recovery of disaster-affected residents," Wijaya said.
