Jakarta, June 28 -- President Prabowo Subianto has proposed tactical steps to safeguard Indonesia's domestic economy and strengthen the nation's position in ongoing tariff negotiations with the United States, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated.
The proposal was put forward during a closed-door cabinet meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Friday (June 27), shortly after President Prabowo hosted Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
According to an official statement released on Saturday, Wijaya said the high-level discussion focused on Indonesia's strategic response to global economic challenges, progress in tariff negotiations with the U.S., and efforts to revitalize regional cooperation in Southeast Asia.
