Jakarta, Jan. 15 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto held a dialogue with 1,200 professors, deans and university rectors in Jakarta on Thursday, focusing on academic and policy issues in the social sciences and humanities.
Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Prof. Stella Christie said the closed-door meeting underscored the government's growing attention to social humanities, following earlier consultations that emphasized science and technology.
"Previously, the focus was broader and leaned toward STEM. This meeting shows that social sciences are now being prioritized," Stella said ahead of the dialogue at the Presidential Palace.
