Jakarta, June 19 -- President Prabowo Subianto has officiated the establishment of 10 new Islamic universities throughout Indonesia, from Lhokseumawe to Ambon, through a Presidential Regulation signed on May 8, 2025.

According to a copy of the document received on Thursday, the universities are spread across Bengkalis, Ambon, Palopo, Palangka Raya, Lampung, Lhokseumawe, Ponorogo, Kediri, Kudus, and Madura.

The establishment of these campuses demonstrates the government's effort to transform Islamic higher education in the regions by changing the names and status of previously established Islamic educational institutions.
