Jakarta, June 21 -- President Prabowo Subianto has attributed the record-breaking 50 percent rise in national rice and corn production to the sweeping drive for deregulation and the unwavering crackdown on corruption.

Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025 in Russia on Friday, President Prabowo described the 50 percent increase as the largest in the nation's history.

"In the first seven months of my administration, rice and corn production rose by approximately 50 percent -- marking the highest increase in Indonesia's history -- with rice reserves reaching 4.4 million tons, an all-time record," he said via his media team in Jakarta on Saturday.
