Jakarta, Sept. 5 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Friday called on Muslims to take inspiration from the character of Prophet Muhammad as the nation marked Maulid Nabi 1447 Hijri, the commemoration of the Prophet's birth.

"The commemoration of Maulid Nabi is not merely a moment to remember the birth of the Prophet, but also a moment to emulate his noble character," Prabowo said in a message posted on his official Instagram account.

He conveyed greetings to Muslims across the country and said the Prophet's life should serve as a reminder of his message of mercy for the entire universe.
