Banda Aceh, Dec. 8 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has approved Rp60 million, or about US$3,600, in assistance for each house damaged or destroyed by landslides and flash floods.
During a coordination meeting on Sumatra's disaster response in Aceh Besar on Sunday, he received reports on housing for evacuees in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
BNPB Head Suharyanto said 37,546 houses were damaged, ranging from severe destruction to moderate and light impacts. He noted the figure remains provisional as verification continues with the Public Works Ministry.
