Jakarta, June 27 -- Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim discussed the recent escalation between Iran and Israel and welcomed the current ceasefire between the two countries.

The two leaders also expressed hope that the ceasefire would lead to lasting peace.

"We continue to encourage a peaceful resolution from all parties and welcome the ceasefire between Israel and Iran. We hope this process will continue toward peace," Prabowo said during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Anwar at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Friday.
