Surabaya, East Java, March 20 -- Indonesia's National Police (Polri) have deployed 164,298 joint personnel for Operation Ketupat to ensure smooth travel during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holidays.
During a troop roll call in Surabaya, East Java, Polri Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said on Thursday that this operation involves personnel from the National Armed Forces (TNI), the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), transportation services, scouts, and other agencies.
He stated that Polri has established 2,835 security posts and will focus on securing 126,736 vital locations, including terminals, stations, ports, airports, and tourist sites.
