Jakarta, Sept. 23 -- National Police (Polri) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has instructed all nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPGs), or kitchens for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program established by the police, to tighten food safety protocols.

"It is vital for SPPGs, especially those managed by the Polri or regional police, to ensure that all meals distributed to schools are ready-to-eat and hygienic," he said during a visit to the Pabelan SPPG at the Semarang Resort Police in Central Java on Tuesday.

In a statement cited in Jakarta, General Prabowo highlighted that the Polri had so far begun the development of 617 MBG kitchens, with 103 already operating, 31 preparing for launch, and 483 still under construction.
