Ambon, Maluku, Sept. 14 -- Police in Ambon and Central Maluku are patrolling Haruku Island to maintain order after a deadly clash between two villages last week, officials said on Saturday.

Ambon city police, joined by Maluku provincial units, launched joint patrols across Haruku Subdistrict.

Officers, including Ambon Deputy Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Nur Rahman, visited high-tension areas, engaged with residents, and urged calm.

"These patrols are meant to reassure the public and prevent further unrest," Rahman said.

Police encouraged residents to remain united, avoid provocation, and report suspicious activity. Rahman said patrols will continue regularly to build trust and maintain stability.
