Indonesia, Jan. 1 -- West Manggarai Police have launched an investigation into a maritime incident involving the tourist vessel KM Putri Sakinah in the Padar Strait, Komodo Sub-district, West Manggarai District, East Nusa Tenggara.

Head of Public Relations of the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Henry Novika Chandra, said the investigation began on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

"The West Manggarai Police submitted a Notice of Commencement of Investigation to the West Manggarai District Attorney's Office on Wednesday," Chandra said on Thursday.
