Jakarta, Sept. 1 -- Indonesia's National Police (Polri) and National Armed Forces (TNI) are conducting large-scale patrols down to the neighborhood level (RT and RW) to ensure public safety and prevent looting following protest riots in several regions.
Deputy National Police Chief, Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo, stated that the joint patrols were carried out on the direct instructions of National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
"On the orders of the National Police Chief, I have instructed all regional police (Polda) and resort police (Polres) to immediately carry out joint patrols with the TNI.
