Jakarta, Aug. 8 -- Under its commitment to maintaining solidarity and upholding humanitarian values, the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) donated US$100 thousand in humanitarian aid to the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) through the Indonesian Embassy in Yangon.
Secretary General of PMI A. M. Fachir stated here on Friday that the aid can improve MRCS' capacity for emergency response, particularly in dealing with natural disasters like the earthquake which recently shook that nation.
He stated that MRCS has dispatched volunteers and resources to assist victims by providing first aid and supporting their recovery efforts. Those initiatives represent MRCS' commitment to humanitarian services, Fachir noted.
