Jakarta, April 10 -- Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono has emphasized that Indonesia plans to temporarily evacuate one thousand Palestinian refugees from the Gaza Strip for medical treatment purposes, not permanent relocation.

He said that Indonesia rejects all attempts to permanently displace the Palestinian people from their homeland as any changes to Gaza's demography would constitute a violation of international law.

"Their presence in Indonesia will be temporary and not at all intended to 'relocate' the Palestinian people from their homeland," Sugiono said in a written statement released on Thursday.
