Jakarta, June 14 -- The Nahdlatul Ulama central executive board (PBNU) condemned Israel's attacks on Iran's nuclear sites and military facilities on Friday, urging the United Nations to take decisive action to de-escalate the conflict.

"These (attacks) reflect the failure of rules-based international order, as it is not well and consistently maintained," Yahya Cholil Staquf, top leader of Indonesia's largest Islamic organization, stated.

Speaking in Jakarta on Friday, he remarked that Israel's surprise assault on Iran-carried out without any prior multilateral dialogue-was a clear violation of international norms and could potentially drag the world into a larger crisis.
