Palembang, July 28 -- Palembang Mayor Ratu Dewa has instructed sub-district and village heads to remain alert for potential forest and land fires by strengthening regional monitoring efforts.
Speaking in Palembang, the capital city of South Sumatra, on Monday, Mayor Ratu Dewa said the city government is continuing to improve its preparedness during the dry season.
To this end, all sub-district and village heads are required to consistently monitor their areas as part of the efforts to manage forest and land fires in 2025.
These efforts encompass activating emergency posts and conducting routine patrols in fire-prone areas, especially on the outskirts of the city where peatlands still exist.
