Jakarta, June 22 -- Over 80 regional leaders and deputy leaders departed for the Institute of Public Administration near Bandung, West Java, to participate in the second batch of regional leaders' retreat.

In his remarks during the pre-departure roll call at the Home Ministry on Sunday, the ministry's Secretary General Tomsi Tohir expected the 86 regional leaders to improve self-discipline and acquaint with one another during the retreat.

"This orientation is not merely physical activities, but is intended to improve your self-discipline as a regional leader," Tohir told the participating regional leaders.

"Each district cannot stand on its own and it needs help from its neighbors. For the provinces, it is the same," he added.
