Jakarta, June 29 -- More than 31,000 domestic and international runners took part in the 2025 Jakarta International Marathon (JAKIM) on Sunday morning, according to Governor Pramono Anung.
"Participants in the Jakarta International Marathon came from 51 countries," he said, affirming the provincial government's full support for the international event.
Runners gathered early in the morning at the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta and were flagged off from its northwestern gate at 5:15 a.m.
They followed routes through Medan Merdeka Barat and continued southward before converging at the Bung Karno Main Stadium, the official finish line.
