Jakarta, July 17 -- State-run railway company Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) reported on Thursday that more than 2 million passengers used its train services during the school holiday period from June 20 to July 15 in Jakarta and surrounding areas.
Ixfan Hendriwintoko, Public Relations Manager at KAI's Jakarta Operational Area 1 (Daop 1), said 1.85 million of those passengers traveled on long-distance trains, while the remainder used the Pangrango train on the Bogor-Sukabumi route.
On average, Daop 1 Jakarta served around 77,145 passengers per day, with 35,075 departing and 36,146 arriving daily at major stations such as Gambir and Pasar Senen.
