Jakarta, Nov. 7 -- Indonesia's National Nutrition Agency (BGN) reported that the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program will have 14,403 kitchens operating this month.

In a statement on Friday, BGN said it is conducting multi-layered verification for 1,560 kitchens still in the preparation stage.

As of November 6, 12,843 kitchens, officially called Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG), are already operating across the country.

BGN Deputy Head Sony Sonjaya said this development marks significant progress in preparing infrastructure for the MBG program, one of the government's key priorities.

He added that fast verification and field readiness are crucial to ensure nutrition services reach all target areas promptly.
