Jakarta, Aug. 7 -- The Ministry for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI), the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) provincial government, and the Regional Police issued a joint declaration on the prevention of human trafficking (TPPO) on Wednesday.

"We are very proud of how we can all unite and work together to eradicate and address the threat of human trafficking," secretary general of the Ministry of P2MI, Dwiyono, said in a statement released here on Wednesday.

He emphasized his ministry's commitment to eradicating human trafficking. He also called the declaration a first step.

He said that synergy with the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police will encourage more strategic efforts to eradicate human trafficking in the future.
