Indonesia, Jan. 20 -- The Governor of North Maluku, Sherly Tjoanda, urged residents to remain alert when sailing, following information from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) regarding the ongoing extreme weather dynamics.
"We urge the public to stay vigilant, especially residents living in flood and landslide-prone areas. Continue monitoring weather information from BMKG and immediately report to local authorities if an emergency situation occurs," Tjoanda said when contacted here on Tuesday.
The governor urged all residents to enhance vigilance and preparedness in facing possible hydrometeorological disasters.
