Jakarta, Aug. 3 -- Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto has declared zero tolerance for companies that cause forest and land fires in their land-clearing activities.
"The government takes a clear step that there is no tolerance for deliberate burning of forests for land clearing," Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Budi Gunawan said in his statement here on Sunday.
This was emphasized by the president to ensure companies uphold responsibility for the land the state has approved to manage.
