Jakarta, Sept. 20 -- Indonesian Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman emphasized that the government does not impose taxes on micro and small businesses with annual turnover below Rp500 million.

Maman made the statement to clarify public perceptions suggesting that the government taxes all business operators, including small traders.

"If there is a narrative that the government collects taxes from street vendors or ultra-micro businesses, that is a hoax. For turnover below Rp500 million per year, no tax is imposed at all," Maman told ANTARA during an interview at the ANTARA Heritage Center in Pasar Baru, Jakarta, on Friday.
