Purwakarta, W. Java, May 14 -- The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs is encouraging social media platforms to screen negative content to ensure a safe digital space for children.

"Their technology is more sophisticated, so we expect they will be the first to take down any negative content from their platforms," Communication and Digital Affairs Minister Meutya Hafid stated here on Wednesday.

The government cannot work alone to make the digital realm child-friendly by taking down sites that negatively affect children.

Online platforms must cooperate in the efforts and sort their content so that children are exposed to good content on the Internet, she emphasized.
