Denpasar, Sept. 10 -- I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport management stated that the current flooding caused by heavy rain constitutes a force majeure event.
"The current situation is considered force majeure, but we and all airport stakeholders are still working to maintain service standards," said Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi, Head of the Communications and Legal Division of Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar on Wednesday.
The heavy rain that inundated Bali, especially Denpasar, for more than 24 hours since Tuesday (Sept 9) morning has resulted in flooding across almost all of Denpasar and surrounding districts.
Despite the force majeure event, fortunately, all operations at the airport located in southern Bali are currently running normally.
