Jakarta, Sept. 18 -- Indonesia's newly inaugurated Deputy Minister of Forestry, Rohmat Marzuki, pledged to give his utmost in helping the country tackle challenges and advance programs linked to the forestry sector.

During a position handover ceremony in Jakarta on Thursday, he noted that the Ministry of Forestry faces a number of pressing issues, including the need to accelerate progress in achieving the FOLU Net Sink 2030 target.

In this context, Marzuki referred to Indonesia's ambition to reach a condition in which the forestry and other land use (FOLU) sector absorbs more emissions than it produces by 2030.
